Just a friendly reminder that IMmerge 1.02 is still a beta version, and to back up your original log folders in case you don’t like the results :). A new version is coming soon, pending a few issues that need to be fixed, and it’s almost guaranteed to give better results than 1.02.
Stay tuned!

My girlfriend is taking an accounting course that requires installing Microsoft SQL Server database software on her personal computer. In short, there were a lot of problems. It was such an ordeal that I am chronicling it here. This is installing SQL Server 2008 Express on Windows XP SP2 Chinese (PRC).
Here are the problems and the fixes applied in order (the ones that worked):
Trillian, the multi-protocol instant messenger client that IMmerge was originally written for, is currently selling its 4.0 Pro version for $10 instead of the regular $25. That’s a pretty good deal. For paying, you get new theme colours, a very nice history viewer (from 3.0), access to the Flash-based web client, and other goodies. I can attest that this is a good program, as it has been my main IM client on Windows since 0.74 and I have personally reported >25 bugs (at least 20 fixed) into Astra’s bug tracker :).
